Control Wall Graphics and Wall Type Structure

Wall type structure edited so plans read correctly at every scale.

  1. Select a wall and click Edit Type in the Properties palette.
  2. Under Structure → Edit…:
    • Review the layers of the wall.
    • Identify:
      • Core Boundary lines.
      • Layers marked as Core, Exterior, or Interior.
  3. Reorder and set roles:
    • Move layers up/down to change their order.
    • Set Function (Core, Finish, Substrate, etc.).
    • Assign Materials and Thicknesses.
  4. Under Graphics in the type:
    • Set Coarse Scale Fill Pattern and Coarse Scale Fill Color.
  5. Use Detail Level in the view:
    • Coarse – show simple filled wall (no internal layers).
    • Medium/Fine – show all layers in section/plan.
  6. Review wall physical/analytical parameters (optional):
    • Thermal properties (e.g. R/U values).
    • Cost, Manufacturer, Fire Rating, etc.

Tips

  • Early design: work in Coarse detail using simple graphic fills.
  • Later stages: switch to Fine to see full layered construction for detailed drawings.
