Align Floors and Walls for Proper Structural and Graphic Behavior

Floors and walls aligned for correct structural and graphic behavior.

  1. When creating a floor, use Pick Walls and lock:
    1. In Floor Sketch mode, click Pick Walls.
    2. Click wall faces you want the floor to follow.
    3. Press Tab to pick a chain if necessary.
    4. After picking, use Align (AL) and click the padlock to lock floor boundary to wall face.
  2. If you drew the floor manually:
    1. Edit the floor boundary (Edit Boundary).
    2. Use Align (AL):
      • First select the wall face.
      • Then select the floor boundary line.
    3. Click the lock icon to maintain the relationship.
  3. In section/elevation or 3D:
    • Confirm the floor edge meets the structural core of the wall (or as per your detail intent).
    • Later, add thin finish-only walls for continuous façade as required.

Tip

  • Locked relationships between floors and walls make change management much easier: moving walls updates floors automatically.
