Align, Lock, and Edit Walls with Core Editing Tools

1. Align (AL):
   1. Click Modify → Align (or shortcut AL).
   2. Select the reference element (e.g. a wall face).
   3. Select the element to move (e.g. another wall face).
   4. Optionally click the padlock icon to lock the relationship.
   5. When you move one element, the locked one follows.
2. Dimensions (DI):
   1. Click Annotate → Aligned Dimension (or shortcut DI).
   2. Dimension between wall faces/centers or grids.
   3. Changing a dimension value will move the constrained elements.
3. Offset:
   1. In wall command or Modify, set Offset distance.
   2. Check Copy if you want to duplicate, or uncheck to move.
   3. Click elements to offset them by the given distance.
4. Trim/Extend (TR):
   1. Click Trim/Extend to Corner (or shortcut TR).
   2. Select the two walls you want to connect at a corner.
   3. Revit trims or extends automatically to intersect.
5. Split Element (SL):
   1. Click Split Element (or shortcut SL).
   2. Click on a wall where it should be split.
   3. You now have two segments that can receive different types or constraints.
6. Mirror:
   1. Select the elements to mirror.
   2. Click Mirror – Pick Axis or Mirror – Draw Axis.
   3. Define the mirror line and complete.
7. Rotate:
   1. Select element(s).
   2. Click Rotate.
   3. Pick rotation center and angle, or type angle in the dialog.

Tips

• Use pin (📌) to lock critical elements (e.g., important axes/walls) to prevent accidental movement.
• Always watch the status bar instructions at the bottom; Revit tells you what it expects next.
