Create Floors and Coordinate Them with Walls

1. Go to a Floor Plan (e.g. Level 0).
2. On the Architecture tab, click Floor → Floor: Architectural.
3. Revit enters Sketch Mode and the plan background becomes light/halftone.
4. Define the floor boundary:
   • Draw with Line/Rectangle tools, or
   • Use Pick Walls to trace existing walls.
5. When using Pick Walls:
   • Set the side carefully (inside/outside).
   • Press Tab to select a chain of walls.
6. Click Finish Edit Mode (green checkmark).
7. Open a 3D view:
   • Confirm the floor is under the walls and aligned to the Level.
8. Relationship to walls:
   • If the floor boundary is aligned and/or locked to wall faces, moving a wall will update the floor boundary.
   • Use Align (AL) + Lock to firmly tie floor edges to wall faces.

Correct Exterior Condition

• Structurally, slab edges usually sit under walls.
• For façade continuity:
  • You may later add a thin plaster-only wall type in front of slab edges to achieve a continuous exterior finish in elevation.

Copy Floors to Other Levels

1. Select a floor.
2. Press Ctrl+C.
3. Click Paste → Align to Selected Levels.
4. Choose target Levels and click OK.
5. Each new floor can then be edited individually via Edit Boundary.
