Fix Missing Ground/Context in Plans Using View Type and View Range
Recover missing ground and context in plans via view type and range.
- If you can’t see ground/roads “below,” first confirm you’re in the correct plan type:
- If you’re in Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP), you’re looking upward and won’t see the ground as expected.
- Use a Floor Plan view for ground/roads visibility.
- Control cut and visibility using View Range:
- Properties → View Range → Edit.
- Set Cut Plane to a typical plan height (commonly ~1.20m).
- Adjust Top, Bottom, and View Depth:
- Use Unlimited only when needed for broad context.
- For showing elements below as faded reference:
- Use Underlay to reference another level with lower opacity.
- For roof plans:
- Use Shadows and appropriate graphic settings to communicate height/depth rather than relying only on view depth.
