Diagnose Graphic Issues in Sections

A method for diagnosing why a section looks wrong.

  1. Open a problematic Section view and identify elements that appear too dark, messy, or lack hierarchy (foreground vs. background).
  2. Select a problematic element (e.g., a wall) and locate its material source:
    1. Click the element → Edit TypeMaterial.
    2. Inspect the material’s Graphics settings (e.g., Surface Pattern, edge outlines).
  3. Remove unwanted patterns/edges if the intent is a clean “white model” or minimal hatching:
    • In the material, set Surface Pattern to None (or switch to a very subtle gray if “concrete-like” tone is desired).
  4. Repeat for floors if they appear overly heavy:
    • Prefer Solid Fill (light tone) first; add floor hatch patterns later only if needed for communication.
