Fix “Black Blob” Door/Elevation Issues by Editing Family Materials

1. If a downloaded door family appears as a heavy black mass in elevation:
   1. Select the door → Edit Type (or Edit Family if needed).
   2. Inspect assigned materials (often a “frame material” or similar).
2. In the family’s material graphics, reduce visual dominance:
   • Remove Solid black surface fills/patterns if they overpower the drawing.
3. Reload the updated family:
   • Load into Project → choose Overwrite when prompted.
