Move Around Your Model in Twinmotion

Fluent viewport control — fly, orbit, and walk through the scene, set the sun, and save the viewpoints you'll present from.

  1. Learn the fly controls (the default mode):
    • W / S = move forward / backward, A / D = move left / right.
    • Q = move up, E = move down.
    • Hold the right mouse button and move the mouse to rotate the camera (look around) while flying with WASD.
    • Left click + drag orbits the view; the mouse wheel zooms in and out.
  2. Tune your movement speed — the single biggest comfort upgrade:
    • Press 1 (slowest, for interiors) through 6 (fastest, for site-scale moves).
    • If you shoot past the building, you're on too high a speed; drop to 23.
  3. Jump straight to your model when you get lost:
    • Open the Scene Graph (bottom right), right-click a model element, and choose Zoom to Selection.
  4. Walk instead of fly for eye-level checks:
    • Switch the navigation mode from fly to walk mode in the viewport controls — the camera locks to eye height (~1.70 m) and follows the ground, which is how juries will experience the spaces.
  5. Set the sun and time of day:
    1. Select Ambience from the Scene Graph.
    2. Under Weather, drag the time of day slider and watch shadows sweep across the model.
    3. Set the real Location so sun angles match your actual site, not a default one.
  6. Save the viewpoints you want to return to:
    1. Open the Media tab (bottom center of the screen) and select Image.
    2. Frame your view, then click the + icon — the camera position and the current ambience are stored together.
    3. Click any saved thumbnail later to snap back to exactly that view.
    4. Reframed the shot? Hover over the thumbnail and click Refresh to update it.
  7. Practice a loop: fly to the site at speed 5, drop to 2, walk the entrance sequence, set late-afternoon sun, and save 3 viewpoints.

Note: Saved Media images are not just bookmarks — they are the exact cameras you will later render and export, so building the habit of saving good viewpoints while exploring is already the first step of your final presentation.
