Install the ArchiTool Rhino2Revit Plugin and Run Your First Import

1. In Rhino, save your model as a .3dm file. Check that layers are named sensibly (walls, floors, columns…) — the tool maps layers to Revit element types.
2. In the browser, open the Rhino → Revit tool on ArchiTool and sign in.
3. Click Choose a .3dm file, or simply drag the file anywhere onto the window.
   • The file is parsed locally in your browser — it is never uploaded.
4. Check the Source units box: the detected unit (e.g. Metres detected) is shown. Override the dropdown only if Rhino's unit tag is wrong — coordinates always export in millimetres.
5. In the layer mapping panel, confirm at least a few layers are mapped to a Revit element type (the tool pre-fills suggestions from the layer names). The Mapped counter must be above 0.
6. Click Download for Revit. You get one zip containing the latest plugin plus your geometry as a small .architool file.
7. Unzip the download and double-click Install.cmd:
   1. On the first run the installer sets up the one-time ArchiTool engine (the runtime Revit needs to load the extension). One UAC prompt is expected — accept it.
   2. Windows SmartScreen may flash once — click Run anyway.
   3. The installer copies the ArchiTool.ai extension into place, drops in your bundled .architool data file, and registers the .architool file association.
8. Open Revit with a project that contains at least one Level (any template works; an empty project with no Levels will stop with "No Levels found").
9. A new ArchiTool tab appears in the ribbon. Click Import → Rhino2Revit.
10. The bundled .architool file is auto-detected — confirm the dialog, and your geometry is created in one transaction.
11. Read the ArchiTool import summary that opens afterwards — it lists exactly what was created and anything that failed.
12. For every later export you do not re-install: download again from ArchiTool, double-click the new .architool file from the zip (a small dialog confirms it loaded), then in Revit click ArchiTool → Import → Rhino2Revit — the newly dropped file is already the default. A Pick another file option lets you import an older export.

Note: If the automatic engine install fails (corporate firewall, strict antivirus), the installer opens the engine download page in your browser — install it manually and re-run Install.cmd; everything after that is identical.
