Map Rhino layers to Revit element types. Install ArchiTool for Revit once (a native add-in on the ArchiTool.ai ribbon tab), then every export becomes native Revit Walls, Floors, Roofs, Columns, Beams and DirectShape Mass in a single transaction. Wall and floor thicknesses, column cross-sections, roof slopes, openings, and curved boundaries are detected automatically from the source geometry.

Install ArchiTool for Revit
Once per computer: run the ArchiTool for Revit installer (a standard Windows setup, no admin rights). It puts the ArchiTool.ai tab in Revit with Rhino to Revit, Drawing Styles and Opening Shop Drawings.
Run in Revit
Click ArchiTool.ai → Rhino to Revit, sign in with your ArchiTool account the first time, pick the .architool file and a base level.
Tips
- Do — Name layers semantically (A-WALL, A-FLOOR, A-ROOF, S-COLUMN, S-BEAM) — auto-mapping picks them up via regex.
- Do — Walls and floors auto-create Revit types matching the Rhino brep thickness (Basic Wall, Basic Floor). No manual type-setup needed; multiple thicknesses → multiple ArchiTool-named types.
- Do — Columns auto-rotate to match their Rhino orientation, including 45° rotations on square cross-sections. Round columns are detected and placed as DirectShape circular extrusions when no parametric round family is loaded.
- Do — For panelized / doubly-curved roofs, map to Smooth surface from panels — fits a continuous smoothed surface through the panel centroids instead of stair-stepped tiles.
- Avoid — Don't pre-explode block instances — block-instance handling is a v2 feature. Explode in Rhino before exporting.
