Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 May 2026
This policy explains what data ArchiTool collects, how we use it, and what rights you have. ArchiTool is a software product operated by 01Architecture Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your email address, display name, and any password you set. Stored in Firebase Authentication.
- Subscription data — Stripe customer ID, plan tier, billing status. Card numbers are never stored on our servers; Stripe handles all payment data.
- Tool usage — counters for monthly Daylight runs, AI Advisor message counts, tool access timestamps. Used to enforce free-tier quotas and to show you your current usage.
- AI Advisor messages — when you chat with the Advisor, your messages plus the current run's metric snapshot are sent to Anthropic for inference. We retain a short usage log (token counts, cost) but not the full conversation transcript by default.
- Product analytics — pageviews, button clicks, and tool-completion events via PostHog. Pseudonymous (tied to your Firebase UID), used to understand which tools are useful. See "Cookies" below for opt-out.
- Uploaded model files — Rhino .3dm files you drop into the daylight or other tools are processed entirely in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
2. How we use your data
- To authenticate you and provide access to the tools.
- To enforce plan limits (free-tier quotas, Pro feature gates).
- To process subscription payments and refunds via Stripe.
- To answer your AI Advisor questions, with grounded data from your most recent run.
- To improve the product by understanding usage patterns (anonymised PostHog analytics).
- To contact you about service issues, account changes, or product updates you opt into.
3. Sub-processors
The following third parties process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore) — account storage, tier claims, usage counters.
- Stripe — subscription billing and customer portal.
- Anthropic — AI Advisor inference (Claude). Messages are processed in real-time; Anthropic does not train on API data.
- PostHog — product analytics. Configured with autocapture; session recording is disabled.
- Vercel — application hosting and edge delivery.
- Google Workspace (Gmail SMTP) — transactional email delivery (welcome, verification).
4. Data retention
- Account and subscription data: retained while your account is active.
- Usage counters: rolling 12-month window, then aggregated.
- AI Advisor usage logs: 12 months.
- Analytics events: per PostHog defaults (12 months).
- On account deletion request (see below), we delete your account data within 30 days; aggregated analytics events may be retained for product analysis.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, portability, or to object to processing. To exercise any right, email hello@01architecture.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.
You can also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. The cookie banner on first visit lets you accept or reject analytics cookies (PostHog). Strictly-necessary cookies (auth session) are always set — without them you can't sign in.
7. International transfers
Some sub-processors (Firebase, Stripe, Anthropic, PostHog, Vercel) are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK / EEA, we rely on the relevant provider's Standard Contractual Clauses or Data Privacy Framework certifications.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email to active accounts at least 14 days before they take effect.
