About Program Analysis·Turn a space program into dashboards, charts, and 3D massing — then export .3dm.

What Program Analysis does

Reads a space program (category, space, count, area) and instantly produces totals, net-to-gross efficiency and circulation ratios, a proportional treemap, and a 3D stacking massing you can export as clean, layered .3dm for Rhino.

Input:
CSV / Excel
Output:
Dashboard + .3dm
Runs:
In your browser

How it works

Arithmetic on your own schedule, made visible. Nothing is inferred or benchmarked against a database — the totals, ratios and treemap are all direct readings of the numbers you supplied, and the stacking massing is those same areas given a third dimension.

 • Totals, net-to-gross and circulation ratios computed directly from the entered schedule.
 • Treemap areas are proportional to real area, so visual weight and numeric weight agree.
 • Stacking massing built from the same figures, then exported as layered .3dm for Rhino.
 • Runs entirely in the browser — the schedule never leaves your machine.

How to use it

 1. Import or sample. Upload a CSV/Excel program sheet, or hit Sample to explore with a worked brief.
 2. Tune the table. Edit any cell — categories, counts, and areas flow live into every chart and the massing.
 3. Read the metrics. Gross vs assignable area, efficiency, and circulation share update as you type.
 4. Stack by floor. In 'Program by floor', drag a program segment onto another level to re-stack it, and set a target area per level to catch overflows.
 5. Choose a massing. Switch the 3D massing between vertical stack, horizontal spread, or by-floor (needs a floor column).
 6. Export .3dm. Download a layered massing — one layer per category, coloured and tagged with areas — for Rhino or Grasshopper.

Best used for

 • Turning a client brief into something you can test and argue with.
 • Checking net-to-gross before the plan exists.
 • Comparing two briefs, or two readings of the same brief, on equal terms.
 • Getting a first stacking diagram into Rhino without drawing it.

Not a substitute for

 • Area certification or lease measurement.
 • Planning or building-control submissions.
 • Replacing a measured schedule of accommodation.

Known limits

 • Garbage in, garbage out: nothing validates that your areas are realistic for the space type.
 • The stacking massing is diagrammatic — it assumes areas stack cleanly, which real plans rarely do.
 • No measurement standard is applied, so it does not know NIA from GIA unless you do.
 • Circulation is whatever you classify as circulation; the ratio inherits that judgement.
